Structure of carrier roller/support roller:

Wheel body: Rolling in contact with the track
Wheel axle: fixed on the track frame
Bearing: Internal rolling bearing (generally tapered roller bearing)
Floating oil seal: anti silt, anti leakage oil
End caps and sealing rings

Features of carrier roller :

Smaller and lighter than the track roller
The force is much smaller than that of the track roller
Using a floating oil seal, there is a fear of mud ingress and oil shortage

Functions of support roller :

The support roller is located above the track and in the middle of the frame, mainly for a few things:

1. Support the upper part of the track to prevent it from sagging too much, shaking, or hitting the frame.
2. Reduce walking resistance, allowing the upper half of the track to roll smoothly without grinding the frame.
3. Auxiliary guidance, combined with guide wheels and track wheels, makes the track run more stably and reduces deviation.
4. Slight weight-bearing: Share a small portion of the track weight when going uphill or bumpy.

How to select a carrier roller for your excavator/bulldozer/loader ?

When you select a carrier, it is important to select according to your excavator's brand and model. 

6 tons, 13 tons, 20 tons, and 30 tons cannot be mixed, as the size, shaft diameters, and installation distances of these carrier rollers are different. The groove spacing of the carrier roller must be consistent with the track pitch, otherwise it is very easy for the chain to get stuck, wear out quickly, and fall off easily.
