The idler wheel, also known as the guide wheel, is a core component of the excavator chassis with four wheels, mainly responsible for guiding the track, supporting the load, and adjusting the tension of the track. It stabilizes the track running trajectory, avoids problems such as track loosening, deviation, derailment, and abnormal noise during operation, and greatly extends the service life of the track, support wheel, and drive teeth.

How to select a suitable track roller for your excavator/bulldozer/loader ?

When you select a idler, it should be selected according to your excavator's brand and model. 

1 The guide wheel should match excavator's tonnage

6-ton small excavator
13-16 ton medium excavator
20-24 ton mainstream excavator
Large excavator of over 30 tons
If the tonnage is incorrect, and the size and strength of guide wheel are completely incompatible.

2 The guide roller should match the track pitch (most important)

If the pitch is not correct, it cannot be directly installed and the chain is prone to falling off.
Common pitch:
Small excavator: 135mm, 154mm
20 ton class: 216mm
It must be consistent with the pitch of the track shoes.

Each excavator only need 2 pcs of Idler/guide wheel.
