The function of the driving wheel:

The driving wheel is the only active wheel in the walking system, and the core consists of four things:
1. Transmit power to transfer the torque of the walking motor to the tracks, allowing the excavator to move forward, backward, and turn.
2. Engage the track teeth into the holes of the track link, bite and drive the track without slipping.
3. When starting, braking, climbing, and crossing hills, it can withstand tremendous torque and impact.
4. Assist in limiting to prevent the track from running backwards or derailing.

The drive wheel must be replaced if the following situations occur:

Sharpening, grinding, and baldness of tooth tips
There is a crack at the root of the tooth
Single tooth fracture, falling off block
The meshing clearance is too large, causing the teeth to jump during walking

How to select sprocket for your excavator/bulldozer/loader ?

When you select a sprocket, it is important to select according to your excavator's brand and model. 

6 tons, 13 tons, 20 tons, and 30 tons excavator cannot be mixed, as the flange and hole spacing of bolts are different. The driving wheels should match with the track pitch, otherwise, it will happens the problems such as teeth won't holding-on, jumping, abnormal noise, etc; and also will make the driving wheels and track to be weared quickly.
